Find Taliaferro Release Dates

A Taliaferro County projected release date depends on who holds the person and why. A pretrial detainee often has no fixed date because release turns on bond, court action, or a transfer. A sentenced county inmate has a calculation tied to the sentence and the actual receiving jail. A state prisoner has a GDC sentence record and may also have parole timing. To answer “when will they be released,” first identify the custody system. Then distinguish a projected month or scheduled date from the date the person actually leaves custody.

Taliaferro Projected Versus Actual Release

A projected date is an estimate based on the records known at that point. An actual release date records the completed custody change. They may match, but they answer different questions. A court can amend a sentence. Credit for time served can be corrected. Earned time can change, a hold can appear, or the Parole Board can revise its action.

Pretrial custody is different. A person awaiting court action does not have a sentence-expiration date. Release may occur after bond, dismissal, a court order, or transfer. Because the current statewide jail report lists Taliaferro as having no jail, the sheriff must first identify the receiving jail. That facility and the court hold the useful timing records.

Scheduled is not actual. Confirm that the holding agency completed the release before relying on an estimate, parole month, or court date.

Find Taliaferro Projected Release Dates

The correct lookup follows the custody path. The sheriff site points state-offender questions to GDC, but a short local case may never enter GDC. A parole month belongs to the Parole Board. A federal sentence belongs to BOP. One search cannot cover all four.

  1. Ask the Taliaferro County Sheriff's Office where the person is held. This is essential when an arrest leads to an outside receiving jail.
  2. For pretrial or county-sentence custody, contact that receiving jail and the sentencing court. Request the sentence, time-served credit, and release calculation.
  3. For state prison, search the GDC offender search by name, GDC ID, case number, age, sentence status, conviction county, or offense.
  4. For parole consideration, use the Inmate TPM Lookup. Read the result as tentative.
  5. For official state verification, write GDC Inmate Records and Information at P.O. Box 1529, Forsyth, GA 31029.

The Taliaferro County release-record search path explains how sheriff, court, state, and federal records fit together after release.

Taliaferro County Earned-Time Calculations

For a county sentence, O.C.G.A. 42-4-7 says a county inmate sentenced to confinement is released at sentence expiration less earned-time allowances. The practical calculation still depends on the court sentence, credit for time served, the facility's earned-time record, and any later order. Since Taliaferro has no confirmed local projected-date roster field, the sheriff, receiving jail, and court must reconcile those facts.

Do not apply a broad “85 percent” rule to every Georgia inmate. The Georgia Attorney General's Sentence Reform Act opinion explains that certain serious violent felony minimum terms are served without parole, earned time, work release, or other sentence-reducing measures. O.C.G.A. 17-10-6.1 identifies serious violent felony sentencing restrictions. Other parole-eligible prisoners follow different rules.

Why Taliaferro Release Dates Change

A date can move before the person reaches the release door. The record owner should explain the change. A receiving jail calculates county custody, GDC computes a state sentence, and the Parole Board controls its own tentative and final parole actions.

Confirm Taliaferro Actual Release Dates

Use the agency that completed the custody change. For a Taliaferro arrest held elsewhere, ask the sheriff for the receiving jail, then request that jail's release log. The court clerk can provide the bond, sentence, or disposition that explains why custody ended. For state prison, compare the public GDC result with written verification when an official answer is needed.

Georgia VINE can send a custody-change alert when the holding agency participates. It is useful for notice, but a VINE “released” status is not a certified discharge record. If the status says transferred, identify the next agency. The resolved VINE Inmate Check covers person matching and notification registration.

Note: A name disappearing from a live custody view does not by itself prove release to the community.

Taliaferro Parole Month Limits

A Tentative Parole Month, or TPM, is the month when the Board expects to complete final review and may set a parole release date. It is not a promise that the person leaves prison in that month. The Board says good conduct and, in some cases, program completion affect the review. Misconduct can postpone or cancel the TPM.

Most parole-eligible Georgia inmates are considered automatically and do not apply. The Board says most become eligible after one-third of the sentence, but eligibility is only the point at which consideration can occur. Serious violent felony sentences, certain recidivist sentences, and life without parole can follow stricter rules. Life-sentence eligibility can also depend on the offense category and date.

After parole release, the parolee database and DCS supervision record replace the TPM as the more useful sources. If the Board denies parole or defers review, GDC custody continues until another lawful release event occurs.

Taliaferro Release Timing by Custody

The same person can have several meaningful dates. A pretrial bond date may precede the actual jail release. A state prisoner may have a maximum sentence date, TPM, final parole date, and later discharge from supervision. A federal locator can show a release date that later changes after sentence recalculation.

Match the date label to its source. “Parole eligible,” “tentative month,” “scheduled release,” “released,” and “discharged” are not interchangeable.

Taliaferro Court Release-Date Proof

Court papers often explain a Taliaferro release date when no local jail portal can. A bond order authorizes release once its terms are met, but processing may continue after the order is signed. A sentence states the term imposed and may show credit for time served. A later amended order can change that term. A dismissal or nolle prosequi can explain why a charge ended, though another charge or hold may keep the person in custody.

The Taliaferro County Superior Court and Juvenile Court clerk is at 113 Monument St., Crawfordville, with a mailing address of P.O. Box 182. The office phone is 706-456-2123, and published hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Ask for the case docket and the exact order tied to custody. A certified copy is stronger proof than a date copied from a search result.

Compare the order with the sheriff or receiving jail release log. The order explains legal authority; the log records when the custody event occurred. If the two seem inconsistent, ask each record holder to explain its own entry rather than guessing which date controls.

Taliaferro State Release Verification

The GDC public search is a starting point for a person sentenced to Georgia prison. Results can include a photograph when available, identifying details, sentence status, conviction county, and release-related fields. GDC warns that public information may not be complete or current and directs official verification to Inmate Records and Information.

Use a GDC ID or case number when possible. Names can produce several matches, and spelling can vary. Confirm age, offense, conviction county, and sentence information before using a date. A Taliaferro County conviction does not mean the person is housed in Taliaferro. State prisoners may move among GDC facilities while the statewide offender record remains the main lookup.

For a past date, distinguish release from prison from the later end of parole or probation. The DCS and Parole Board records may show supervision after GDC custody ends. Final discharge can occur well after the prison gate release.

Taliaferro Holds and Transfer Dates

A release from one agency can become a transfer to another. The first agency's log may use a release code even though the person did not enter the community. A county warrant, another county's hold, a state sentence, a federal warrant, or an immigration detainer can change the destination. Ask for both the release type and the transfer or hold agency.

When the Taliaferro sheriff sends an arrestee to a receiving jail, that jail controls the physical release process. If the case later moves to GDC, the county record may show transfer while the GDC record shows continued state custody. For a federal matter, the U.S. Marshals Service may move a prisoner through contracted detention before BOP placement. The BOP locator is the correct long-term federal search, not the county roster.

A VINE transfer alert can help identify the change, but it may not name every legal basis for it. Follow the destination agency and compare the court docket. If a projected date passes with no release, check for a new order, hold, or updated computation before assuming an error.
